We designed and built Inkstick Media’s first website in 2017, and then worked with the team again in 2022 to refresh the look, and redesign the user journey and information architecture.
Inkstick Media is an independent investigative media outlet that shines a light on some of the toughest foreign policy problems we face today. But unlike many others, they do it in an accessible fashion: you don’t need to be a foreign policy wonk to read it. As they describe themselves, “Inkstick is foreign policy for the rest of us”.
The team had a clear vision of what they wanted to achieve with the site, and the kind of content they would be publishing: engaging and inspiring short form, with striking photography taking centre stage. In some ways our job was easy, we just needed to give them a site that would let their content shine. Inkstick is a perfect example of what you can do with imagery when you know how to use it, and in the policy world, that makes them stand out.
