Tom is carrying with him a letter of support that he will deliver on his arrival to the Mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovyito, reminding him and all Ukrainians that the UK stands behind them. The letter also invites the mayor to Westminster once the war is over. This letter of support for Ukraine has been signed by 130 cross-party MPs.
But that’s not all – Tom is also raising £20,000 for Ukraine. All funds will go to MAG (the Mines Action Group), which is helping clear Russian mines laid in Ukraine. These mines pose a particular threat to children, covering an area up to an estimated 160,000 square kilometres.
Tom’s road bike is custom-painted with the Union Jack and Ukrainian flag, and his partner Catalina is providing support by car.
