In a few years, the world of policy communications will look very different to today.
Generative AI is revolutionising how people create content, how they complete tasks, and how research and policy is consumed and understood. This course helps you get ahead of the change, showing you how to harness the power of AI to enhance your communications efforts, while maintaining critical human oversight, and navigating the various ethical considerations.
Artificial Intelligence for Policy Communicators is led by Nick Scott, a digital strategist with over 20 years’ experience working with non-profits. Nick was a co-founder of WonkComms, Head of Digital at the Overseas Development Institute, and has consulted with organisations like Greenpeace, The International Science Council, and the International Institute for Sustainable Development.
Introducing your course leader, Nick Scott

“My goal is to help you understand artificial intelligence in your work and to give you the knowledge and skills you need to decide if, when and how to use generative AI to support you in creating an impact through communications.
The premise of the course isn’t whether to use AI—we won’t be able to avoid it—but when and how to use it responsibly to support meaningful human work and effective policy communication and research.
